Week of March 29th Round-Up

You're invited to join Groundwork Ohio for our virtual event Laying the Groundwork Summit: in the Ohio Senate on Friday, April 23 from 10:00-11:30 AM. This virtual summit is an opportunity to hear the latest on Ohio's biennial budget as it relates to quality early childhood experiences for Ohio kids, families and communities, as well as how you can engage in the budget process. The Ohio Association for the Education of Young Children is inviting early childhood professionals to attend The Early Childhood Conference from Thursday, April 22 through Saturday, April 24. The conference includes several notable keynote and guest speakers, as well as informative breakout sessions and discussion groups. Click here to learn more about the conference.

If your work impacts the lives of children ages 0-8, this conference is an excellent opportunity for you to join thousands of fellow educators for strategies, support, and solutions! Conference attendees can earn more than 20 hours of Ohio Approved professional credit. A certificate of attendance will be provided for all sessions you attend.


Meet with Members of the Southwest Ohio Legislative Delegation

Do you live or work in southwest Ohio? You are invited to meet with members of the southwest Ohio legislative delegation on Monday, April 12 at 11:00 AM.

This virtual convening of legislators, constituents, and community leaders will discuss the importance of investing in infants, children, and their families in the Ohio budget and what has been proposed to date.


Toward a Lead-Free Ohio Virtual Town Hall

On Friday, April 16 from 10:00-11:00 AM, the Ohio Lead-Free Kids Coalition is hosting a virtual townhall about key investments in the Ohio budget to prevent and address child lead exposure, promising lead prevention strategies, and opportunities for further action.

Speakers include Ohio Department of Health Director Stephanie McCloud, Senator Matt Dolan, Representative Dontavious Jarrells, and other distinguished guests.
