Welcome to Groundwork Ohio (“we,” “us,” or “our”)!  We are champions of high-quality early learning and healthy development strategies from the prenatal period to age five, that lay a strong foundation for Ohio kids, families and communities (our “Services”).  Part of our Services include hosting the website found at (“Site”).  This Notice applies to our Site and any of our Services where it is specifically referenced. 


In the course of operating our Site and delivering our Services to you, we collect information.  Some of the information that we collect may be considered Personal Information (as defined below).  This Notice describes the information we collect, including Personal Information, as well as why we collect it, how we use it, with whom we share it, and how we keep it secure.  By using our Site or our Services, you agree to the terms set forth in this Notice.  If you do not agree, please do not use your Site or Services. 


We reserve the right to update or change our Notice at any time. Your continued use of the Site or Services after we post any modifications to this Notice will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Notice.

In using our Site or our Services, we will collect certain information about you, including Personal Information. 


Some of this information you may provide to us voluntarily, like when you communicate with us through an online form, send us an email, requesting information from us, registering for an event, making a donation, or by contacting us generally.  When you provide this information to us, we combine it with other information that we may collect about you and we use it, share it, store it, and protect it as outlined in this Notice.


The Personal Information we may collect from you when you provide it includes:

  • Physical Address

  • Email Address

  • Telephone Number

  • Ethnicity

  • Social Media Handle(s)

  • Employment Information

  • Payment Card or Financial Account Information (if you make a donation)

  • Other Personal Information you provide to us when communicating with us.




In addition, we also automatically collect certain types of information whenever you interact with our Site.  The Personal Information we may collect from you automatically includes:


  • your Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet;

  • your domain name, if any;

  • any computer and connection information, such as a browser type and version.




Our Site automatically creates logs regarding user sessions that contain information about the features that you use, the actions that you take, and the information that you access. In addition, your browser automatically tells us the type of computer and operating system that you are using.




Cookies are small pieces of information sent by a web server to a web browser which allows the server to uniquely identify the browser on each page. When someone visits the Site, we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We do this to understand the number of visitors to various parts of our Site as well as other analytical information. This information is anonymized, so that it cannot be used to identify anyone specifically.


Analytics cookies such as Google Analytics collect information like your IP address, device type and operating system, referring URLs, location and pages visited. If you don’t want Google Analytics to be used in your browser, you can install the ‘Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On’, provided by Google.




We use information, including Personal Information, for the following purposes:

  • Communicating with you and responding to any inquires that you may have;

  • Facilitating the Services that we offer and that are described on our Site;

You may opt out of communications at any time, excluding emails directly relating to any ongoing business we have together. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing us directly.




We do not sell or otherwise provide your Personal Information to any unaffiliated third parties without your prior consent.


We may aggregate information, including Personal Information, about you and other individuals together so that the information does not identify you personally and share such aggregated information with third parties as necessary for the operation of the Site and our Services.


In addition, we may share your Personal Information:


  • With our Affiliates.  In order to support our mission and our Services, including our fundraising activities. 

  • With your Express Consent.  When we have your express consent, or if you ask us to do so, we will share your Personal Information with companies, organizations, or other entities. 

  • With our Service Providers.  We may share certain Personal Information of yours with our service providers and other third-parties who perform certain services on our behalf, such as website hosting, analytics, fundraising, marketing, public awareness, content delivery, and advertising.

  • When Necessary to Comply with Laws or Law Enforcement or to Protect Groundwork Ohio.  We may disclose your Personal Information to a third-party:


  • if we believe that the disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request

  • to enforce our agreements, policies and terms of service;

  • to protect the security or integrity of our Services or our Site;

  • to prevent harm or illegal activities;

  • to investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations.


We may also disclose or transfer your Personal Information to a third party organization in the event of a merger, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other transfer of some or all of our assets, in which Personal Information collected by the Site is among the assets transferred. In such an event, we will provide you notice of any such transition and update this Notice accordingly.

We retain Personal Information only as long as necessary to comply with our legal and contractual obligations, and in accordance with our records retention requirements, and then we securely destroy it. 




Our Site may contain links to enable you to visit other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our Site, we do not have any control over the other websites. We cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide while visiting such sites, and such sites are not governed by this Notice. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with such information, they should contact us as soon as possible, and such information will be deleted from our records.
