ADVOCACY TOOLKIT

Guiding Stakeholder Engagement
Advocating for Ohio's Young Children

As Ohio’s statewide advocacy leader for early education and health, Groundwork strives to advance policies that support quality early learning and healthy development for our youngest, most at-risk Ohioans. Our goals cannot be achieved without strong advocates like you who interact with families every day and who are best equipped to communicate the needs of our early education and healthcare systems to policymakers.

We hope this advocacy toolkit serves as a resource for individuals who are interested in becoming more actively involved in important conversations about early learning and healthy development. Use the resources below to learn more about becoming an effective advocate for young children in Ohio.

How can YOU best advocate for Ohio kids?

Advocacy is an activity by an individual or group which aims to influence decisions within political, economic, and social systems and institutions. There are many ways you can help elevate your own voice, as well as the voices of the children and families you work every day.  If you've never participated in advocacy before it can seem daunting, but don't worry--we'll walk you the process one step at a time.
