DAYTON — PNC Bank, new to the Dayton area with its purchase of National City Bank, will announce a “substantial” early childhood education initiative for the area Wednesday, March 17, the bank announced. PNC declined to release details or dollar amounts Monday, March 15, but said the initiative is part of its 10 year, $100 million Grow Up Great program to improve early childhood education in the PNC service area, which includes much of the Midwest. “It’s a pretty substantial, fairly lengthy investment; it’s not just a one-time thing or for a couple of months,” PNC spokeswoman Cheryl Ricci said. The initiative is in collaboration with ReadySetSoar, a local group of early childhood professionals, business leaders and others focused on education. Click Here for PDF |
